Light in the Everlasting Midnight (Prologue)

"Don't you dare try to deceive the gods, for their wrath is as inhuman as they are." Join blind hero Loddfafnir on his journey to reverse the terrible curse in this epic saga heavily inspired by Norse mythology. It is the story of damnation and redemption, the story of light in the everlasting midnight.

GAME TIPS:

Movement: You can spin in place to recognize direction from which the sound originates by comparing volume in your left and right ear. Also, the closer you are to the sound source, the louder it gets. Being close enough results in a bell ring, which signals the possibility to interact with the object.

Lockpicking: This minigame is derived from real-life lockpicking. Press and hold the appropriate button to initialize lockpicking, then apply pressure on the lock and pick all pins one by one. You will hear a quiet click while switching between pins and a loud click whenever you find the proper position of the pin. Lock will automatically open right after you pick all pins correctly. In case it won't happen, release the pressure on the lock and repeat the whole process once again.

Archery: To initiate shooting, load the bow first. Bell will start ringing afterwards. Use the bell's frequency to locate position on y-axis and balance sound between your left and right ear to find position on x-axis. Closer you are to the bell, the louder the sound will be. You can press the hint button to hear the exact sound you are looking for. Once you believe your position is accurate, shoot the arrow.

Difficulty: Minigames (lockpicking and archery) use adaptive difficulty. If you fail multiple times, it should become a little easier to succeed. (Practice makes perfect 😉)

Got lost?: No worries, there are invisible walls surrounding all locations, you won't get very far.
